Hi! I’m Emily.

Welcome to Indigo Spring Home!

I am the creator and author of Indigo Spring Home, a place where I share my passions for cooking from scratch, sewing, and DIY projects. I find so much joy in creating new recipes or projects for our home and our family. My hope is to inspire you with some creative ideas or projects that you can try or make your own!

I live in Virginia with my best friend and DIY partner, my husband Jarred. We have two little boys and a Double Doodle puppy who fill our lives with so much joy.

A few of my favorite things include traveling, hikes in the woods, ice cream, time with close friends, summer days at the lake or the beach, and cooking with my boys.

I am passionate about my faith and Christian beliefs, raising capable and kind kids, being a part of a community, and creating things!

For my career, I have been working as a costumer since 2007. More recently, I have also become a wardrobe stylist for television commercials, print ads, and eCommerce photography. If you’re interested in that you can see some of my projects here.

I have always had a passion for sewing and creating ever since my mom taught me to sew when I was about 7 years old. That’s what led me to this field of work. After working in the costuming and clothing field for over 15 years I have learned a thing or two about how to sew efficiently and what tools can really make your sewing life easier! My husband and I have owned two houses in the 15 years we have been married and both have been fixer-uppers. We love DIY projects! We have learned a lot and we would love to share it with you!
