Lemon and broccoli are a perfect match. Here they come together to make one of the easiest side dishes to go alongside your dinner! If you really want to boost the flavor factor you could add lots of black pepper for lemon pepper broccoli. Or you could lean into the Italian flavors and add a little shredded parmesan cheese. Personally, I like just the lemon and olive oil. It’s fast, it’s easy, it’s tasty, it’s healthy, and it’s only FOUR ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper To taste
  • 1 half Small lemon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450°
  • On a baking sheet toss the broccoli florettes with olive oil making sure each piece is lightly coated with oil. Then sprinkle with as much or as little salt and pepper as you like and toss again to distribute the seasonings.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake until the broccoli is brown and crisp, about 15-20 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time turn the broccoli a little.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and zest the half of lemon over the broccoli. Toss.
  • Squeeze the juice of the half of lemon and toss over the broccoli. This makes the broccoli very lemony. You can add more or less lemon if you would prefer.
  • Serve while still warm.
