What Ingredients Do You Need to Make Stovetop Green Beans with Garlic?
Garlic – 4 to 5 cloves, minced
Extra Virgin Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
1 bag Frozen Extra Fine Green Beans (French) *Not cut green beans
1 shallot – diced (optional)
1/2 tsp onion powder
About 1 tsp sea salt




RECIPE
Stovetop Green Beans with Garlic | A Simple Side Dish
Servings 6 people
Ingredients
- 4-5 cloves Garlic minced
- 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 16 oz bag Frozen Extra Fine Green Beans (French) *Not cut green beans we like Aldi's
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1 Shallot diced
- ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Sea salt
Instructions
- Add 2 tbsp oil, diced garlic, and diced shallot to medium-sized pot. Set over a burner set to medium-heat.
- Cook until garlic is fragrant and just starts to brown. About 1-2 minutes.
- Add bag of frozen green beans and a splash of water (about 2 tbsp) to the pot.
- Add about 1 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp onion powder to the beans, mix to coat with garlic oil, and cover.
- Cook for 10 min, stir green beans, and cook for about 5 more minutes. You can adjust this time based on your preferred texture. Add salt to taste and serve hot.

Garlic Green Beans with Lemon
Here’s a variation on this recipe that has a brighter flavor, thanks to the addition of lemon. We love to pair this side dish with grilled salmon.

Servings 6 people
Ingredients
- 4 Cloves Garlic minced
- 2 Tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
- ½ Lemon zest and juice
- 1 16 oz bag Frozen Extra Fine Green Beans (French) *Not cut green beans We like Aldi's
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt or to taste
Instructions
- Add 2 tbsp oil, and the diced garlic, to a medium potÂ
- Set burner to medium. Cook garlic until fragrant and just turning color (about 1 to 2 minutes).
- Add the bag of frozen green beans and a splash of water (about 2 tbsp) to the pot. Â
- Add about 1 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp onion powder to the green beans, mix to coat with garlic oil, and cover. Cook for about 10 minutes, stir and cook for 5 more minutes.
- Mix in lemon zest and juice and cook until your preferred texture. Salt to taste and serve hot.
